Azure DevOps Checklist Extension

The Azure DevOps Checklist extension adds reusable checklists to work item forms. Teams use it for definition of done, release steps, testing gates, and any repeatable process that should live next to the work item—not only in external docs or child tasks.

What you can do

  • Add one or more independent checklists to a single work item, each backed by a template.
  • Author templates in project settings, scoped by work item type, team, and project.
  • Store checklist content in Azure DevOps fields (markdown) so history and collaboration work like any other field.
  • Optionally map progress and completion to your own fields (Premium) for board cards, queries, dashboards, and work item rules that block state transitions.
